Ted Carlsen, Ph.D. – Vice President
Ted holds a Bachelors and Doctorate in Geology and has spent 22 years working in all aspects of the oil and gas industry. He started as a summer intern working with the U.S. Geological Survey mapping Indian reservations for oil and gas potential to help the tribal counsels obtain maximum value for their leases. He then moved on to Unocal International working development and exploration projects around the world followed by a term working onshore Gulf of Mexico. His work included regional basin wide studies for country entry, developing exploration targets, field acquisition analysis and bid round evaluations.
In 1996 Ted Moved to Occidental Oil & Gas International evaluating exploration projects and producing fields throughout Europe and central Asia. When Occidental moved its International division to Houston Ted became a consultant to the energy industry in California helping start-up companies get established in California and initiate exploration and production programs. He also consulted with major oil and gas companies doing reservoir characterization and 3D geo-modeling to better understand and exploit their reserves. Since 2005 he has helped an independent to increase production and explore in California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, shale plays and international opportunities. His most recent project was setting up and managing a large team with a $100 MM budget and 3 rig drilling program. Ted brings a wide range of skills to Numeric Solutions from Exploration and reservoir characterization to project management and acquisition/divestment assistance.
